US are now using more corn for fuel than feed

In the United states, more corn is being used for animal feed and biofuels than human consumption. Its claimed that out of every 10 ears of corn grown only two actually goes directly as human food. The other are shared equally between animal feeds and ethanol. This significant shift in the use of corn from human feed to fuels, could represent a tipping point in the ongoing conflict between food and fuel demand in the future.
