Future problems of protein feed supplies in the UK

Director for SoyaUK David McNaughton believes that the next nine year will only bring increasing problems in terms of protein feed supplies. In the UK we currently import three million tons of soya and soya products every year, with the majority of it going into animal feed industry. He said "In recent years, we have seen an increasing gulf between soya demand and production. This has driven a price rise for soya beans from £150 (€174.262) per ton to £400 (€464.7) per ton.
