Floodwaters causing havoc in the Mekong Delta

Soldiers assist farmers in consolidating the dykes                 
The floods that have hit the Mekong Delta has claimed seven lives so far and inundated thousands of hectares of rice crops as well also causing sever damage along the dyke routes. In the An Giang Province some 2000 houses have been submerged and 600 are on the verge of collapse. Also in the An Giang Province 11,000 people have been mobilised to make emergency repairs and to fortify 370 kilometers the dykes. Read more ...
