India lifts ban on none basmati exports

Over the past year rice has beaten corn and soybean in exports, but that is soon to change as India restarts exports of non basmati products after lifting a ban. Buyers like Indonesia brought less than expected, "there is a short term fear that India may enter the white rice market" said Jeremy Zwinger, chief executive officer of The Rice Trader, a weekly industry report based in California.
