China's corn imports hits a tenth month high

According to data recently released by the General Administration of Customs, China's corn imports hit a 10 month high of 245,000 tons in August. "As the price of corn is declining in the international food market, we could use the imports to ease price hikes in the domestic market. This will also offer some help to the government in containing the surging CPI," said Ma Wenfeng, a senior analyst at Beijing Orient Agribusiness Consultant Ltd. Read more ...

Russian grain harvest may increase 53 percent

The Russian grain harvest could reach 93 million metric tons this year, that 53 percent increase on last years harvest. Arkady Zlochevsky Grains union’s president said "This year’s harvest is expected to be a record for crops such as sunflower seeds with 9 million to 10 million tons, corn with 6 million tons, rice with more than 1.2 million tons and soybeans with more than 900,000 tons" Read more ...
