Mozambique to axe VAT on raw materials for animal feed

Mozambique’s government proposed a new law to end VAT on the raw material used for animal feed. The association of poultry farmers have welcomed this move. Emilio Tinga Chairman of the association said that the association expected much more than just VAT exemption, they expected it to be extended across the board to include importing of equipment. "The feed accounts for 60 percent of the cost of raising chickens", said Tinga, "so cutting the cost of feed would be a major relief for poultry farmers". Read more ...
